SPARKlabs are discovery-based, interactive lab activities that incorporate science content, data collection & analysis and student assessment. SPARKlabs create a fully integrated and seamless framework in which students can make predictions, make measurements in real time and immediately draw meaning from them. The entire process is focused on helping students make connections and encouraging reflection and retention.
The SPARKlabs will arrive on a flashdrive along with the additional materials.
The Key Concepts in Earth Science program contains 5 SPARKlabs for each of the Key Concepts books for a total of 30 SPARKlabs. Designed to support and reinforce the Big Ideas in Physical Science, each SPARKlab guides students through an investigation that lets them discover the fundamental concepts of earth science for themselves.
The content provides students with the foundation, the SPARKlab activities stimulate discovery and reflection and allow them to deepen their connection to the material. Together they create an integrated, standards-based program for 21st century middle school science.
